| It was while they were playing a gig as members of the Fourtones that Clarke and Nash were approached by a group called the Deltas and were invited to join them With a few lineup changes over the next few months the Deltas became the nucleus for the Hollies the new group featuring Clarke on lead vocals Nash on rhythm guitar and vocals Eric Haydock on bass Vic Steele soon replaced by Tony Hicks on lead guitar |
